AMS Airline Network

Setting Up Your Base and Hubs

The Base Airport: Your Airline’s Foundation

When you first create your airline, your most important decision is selecting a Base Airport. This choice is permanent and defines two key factors:

  • Airline Nationality: Your base determines the country your airline is registered in.
  • Initial Starting Point: All your early-game operations will center around this hub.

Note: Choose wisely! Unlike other features in the game, the Base Airport cannot be changed or deleted once your account is created.

Expanding via Hubs

To grow your empire beyond your initial borders, AMS allows you to add additional airports as Hubs.

  • Global Reach: Virtually any airport in the game can be added to your network as a hub.
  • Scheduled Operations: Once an airport is added as a hub, you can immediately begin assigning scheduled flights from that location, allowing you to dominate new regions and markets.

Adding Hubs

Most map views in the game allow for quick hub selection. To expand your reach, follow these steps:

  • Locate an Airport: Find the airport you want to turn into a hub on the map.
  • Open the Menu: Right-click on the airport icon. A context popup will appear displaying the airport’s base information and statistics.
  • Add to Hubs: Click the highlighted icon (usually a building or hub symbol), and the airport will be added to your official Hub List.

The Cost of Expansion

Keep in mind that growth comes with overhead! Every hub you add carries a small weekly maintenance fee. This payment is automatically deducted from your account, so ensure your routes from that hub are profitable enough to cover the recurring cost.

Managing Your Hubs

To oversee your growing network, navigate to Home > Airline Hubs. This menu provides a comprehensive overview of your operational bases and their financial impact.

Understanding the Hub Table

The table displays several critical data points for each location:

  • Weekly Upkeep: The recurring cost required to maintain the hub.
  • Discount Percent: The savings applied to your flight taxes and maintenance costs for aircraft based at that hub.
  • Activation Date: The exact date the hub or base was officially added to your airline network.
  • Next Payment Date: The countdown to your next automated upkeep deduction—essential for managing your cash flow!
