Navigate to Storyline module

Book Collection in BWT

The story line creation happens in story-line module in Book Writing Tool application. The access to the application is free. A simple registration is require with user email an password.

After login the profile page is displayed. Click on Library left menu to navigate to book collection. Here your books are displayed as cards in Dashboard view and additional display in table is provided for conventions.

By clicking on the first card a new book can be created. Fill the title and other fields in the book creation form and submit. After successful creation a new card with your book will be displayed in the list

Book navigation toolbar is position in the bottom of the book card

By selecting Chapters button the book will be selected as active and book chapters module will appear.

Book Chapters

On the image the dashboard view of Book Chapters module is presented. This is the main working area for book authors. Here you can add text to the book and preserve your note for the book in 2 categories:

  • Characters
  • Storylines

On top you can see the book banner. It contains main information about active book and navigation (hamburger menu in top right corner) . When you are in Characters or Storyline module, you can quickly return to Book Chapter by clicking on this card.

Similar to the book toolbar action buttons for chapters are on the bottom of the chapter card. chapter_toolbar From left to right buttons are:

  • Info – opens up sliding right panel showing information for this chapter
  • Read – Opens and paged reading panel for selected chapter.
  • Settings – form for editing chapter parameters (title, subtitle, preflight and others)
  • Menu – menu with above and other additional links

Additional toolbar with action buttons is displayed on New Chapter card width following actions:

  • Storyline – open storyline module where storylines management is implemented
  • Characters – opens Characters module where characters management is implemented

The same action buttons are available also in book banner menu.

User can access storyline module by clicking on one of the above described action buttons.

Storylines Module

Storyline Module page has 3 main areas

  • Topmost – contains topmost storylines. Having multiple topmost storylines allow user to create multiple chains of notes (story; lines). For the topmost storyline a link can be specified to define sequence of storyline chains.
  • Storylines List – a sequence of notes that are children’s of selected topmost storyline
  • Storylines Chart – graphical representation of the storylines chain

Here in this page used can create a storyline chains. Storyline chains are assigned automatically to the active book and chapter, if un chapter edit page. These assignment’s can be edited manually. The storyline text can be plain text or HTML content. There us an order property that can be utilized by user to define specific order for visualization of the storylines chain..
