The Book Writing Tool (BWT) is a Web Application intended to help any author in writing process.. It is a free online available tool for everybody who likes to write. No one writing tool is going to do everything for you, so you’ll likely be relying on a couple of writing tools. The Book Writing Tool (BWT) focus on keeping your scripts in some semblance of order and can be one of the tool that will help you..
The application is my test project and is still in process of development, but I wanted to reach out and ask if you could provide some feedback on this project. The base functionality is working. Creation and editing if user account, book and chapter management. Characters and storyline management.
I hope the user interface is intuitive and easy to use. Play with it and do not hesitate to share you opinion here in the comments section of this post.
Here are some initial description of the application modules.
User Management
Simple user management is implemented. The module includes registration (email address and password are only required fields), edit user profile, and profile home page. Forgot password functionality is not implemented yet. Please remember your login data for now. When logged-in you will be able to see you avatar (provided from Gravatar) in the left top-corner of thee application.
Library
Library menu opens the book management module. Book here refers to a collection of chapters (object that contains you text content), characters (description of your harrows) and storylines (sequential notes).
In Library menu a list or your book objects is presented. Every module has 2 visualization types: cards and table. They show one and the same information but presented in different format. You can select to use the more convenient format for you, The system will remember the selected one.
The module include adding, editing and select book functionality Adding a book require some basic settings for book to be defined like title, subtitle and preflight. There are several coverage images available for selection., but any image URL can be used for book cover image. The idea is just to have something that will inspire you for writing. In this module read book button is not ready yet, but selecting the book and going to Chapter editing is ready and is the logical next step.
Chapters
A book can have multiple chapters. Creation of the chapters is a similar to creation of the book. Ones created the content for the book can be entered. An basic html editor for text editing is used. It is a third-party control and I do not have a lot of control over its functionality.
Additionally to the text content an characters list and storylines list are supported, This part is very important for me. As an non professional writer I am writing my stories with big gaps of time between sessions. That’s way I need some place to store small notes for storyline and my characters.
Characters
This is for now. I will continue to white this blog adding more description and building additional functionality to the application.

The application can be used as online diary that will keep your private thoughts safe, a reflective journal where you can pour your emotions and record life events or maybe even an infinite digital parchment for that novel.
